Community Representative

POSITION:                             Community Representative (CR)

LOCATION:                            Raleigh, NC

CLASSIFICATION:                 Hourly, full-time

 

The Community Representative (“CR”) is a member of the leasing team and interacts with team members to lead their community in providing good housing for good neighbors by good people. This is accomplished through outstanding customer service, priority management, positivity, humility, and continuous improvement. This position will attend meetings and training programs, and seek educational opportunities and self-improvement for personal growth and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete lease form or agreement and collect the rental deposit
  • Insure the “model” apartments and target apartments are ready for show; maintain work areas and office in clean and orderly manner; maintain awareness of the “curb appeal” of the property
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of lease terms, specifications and all community policies
  • Maintain knowledge of Fair Housing Standards
  • Know the market, review weekly comps, occupancy, rental rates, concessions and traffic results
  • Develop full knowledge of application information required, screening processes and policies regarding rentals; maintain resident and property files
  • Process all required administrative forms, reports and related information in a timely and efficient manner
  • Handle resident requests and complaints with courtesy and report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times
  • Actively participate in local trade organizations

 

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree or at least one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and interface with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Fluency with database and reporting tools
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
  • Valid NC driver’s license

 

The fiduciary nature of the job necessitates a criminal and driver’s license background check, and a comprehensive drug and opiate screen.
